$2.6 Billion FMS Approved
The US Defense Security Cooperation Agency (DSCA) notified Congress on 26 May of State Department approval for a potential foreign military sale (FMS) of CH-47F Chinook helicopters to Egypt.
The Egyptian government has requested 23 CH-47Fs, 56 T-55-GA-714A engines (incl 10 spares) and a variety of associated equipment, weapons and support. Total estimated cost is $2.6 billion, for a capability that will significantly enhance the Egyptian Air Force’s heavy-lift abilities. The prime contractor will be Boeing.
