Ecuadorian Navy Acquires Five Patrol Boats

To Be Deployed on Riverine Operations on Northern Border

The General Logistics Directorate of the Ecuadorian Navy has acquired five patrol boats from US company Renegade Powerboats, delivered to the southern naval base at Guayaquil on 23 June.

The aim of the procurement is to reinforce the surveillance and control functionalities of the Navy and the Marine Corps, thereby enhancing their role in countering criminal groups and protecting citizens and infrastructure. The boats are to be used on the northern border for riverine operations.

Two of the boats will be operated by tactical units, the others will beused  for command and control tasks. All are equipped with Mercury 4T 350hp outboard engines providing speeds of up to 40 knots. The 10.35m boats have a beam of 2.9m and a cargo capacity of up to 1,700kg.
