The system is designed for installation on a range of platforms from maritime vessels to ports
DSIT Solutions Ltd. will launch an advanced version of its PointShield System for detection of manned and unmanned submersibles at IMDEX 2025. The system is designed for installation on a variety of platforms ranging from maritime vessels to ports.
The new version provides a multitude of advantages. Versatile and flexible, it adapts quickly to various operational environments and can be installed on corvettes as well as smaller vessels, and in harbors and remote locations in permanent or temporary installations. Rapidly deployed, the portable sonar system is ready to respond to potential threats in a very short time. With fully automatic detection, classification and alert capabilities, the system does not require a real-time operator. Enhancing security, it effectively detects underwater intruders including divers, Diver Propulsion Vehicles (DPVs), and Autonomous Underwater Vehicles (AUVs) – preventing unauthorized access to sensitive areas.
Easy to use, the advanced PointShield system provides intuitive interfaces and straightforward operation, requiring only a short training period. Operator setups can be configured according to specific mission requirements. With flexible connectivity, PointShield can be operated from a local hardened laptop or from any Command & Control system. Exceptionally reliable, the system has a very low false alarm rate. It can be launched into the water either manually or with a crane, or permanently installed inside an acoustic dome – an ideal option for smaller vessels.
Amir Alon, DSIT’s VP of Marketing and Business Development, said:“At DSIT, our mission is to stay one step ahead of emerging threats by listening closely to the needs of our customers and the realities on the ground. With UAVs rapidly reshaping the landscape of naval warfare, we’ve enhanced PointShield’s software to deliver smarter, faster, and more adaptive protection—right where it’s needed most.”
