Jointly developed with Patria
RENK Group AG is presenting the newly developed HSWL 076 for the first time at this year’s DSEI in London. The system was developed for the Finnish defense and technology company Patria and specifically addresses the requirements of modern, lightweight tracked vehicles. It is the first of a new generation of transmissions and paves the way for a digitalized drivetrain.
“We are setting a new standard for propulsion technology in light tracked vehicles with the HSWL 076. The development in partnership with Patria and the consistent focus on future requirements demonstrate how we innovate in a practical and customer-oriented manner at RENK. Our goal is to offer our customers reliable, efficient and future-viable solutions,” said Dr. Alexander Sagel, CEO of the RENK Group.
Innovative solution for future-oriented mobility
The HSWL 076 was rigorously assessed in demanding field tests over the course of the year. The aim is for the prototype, which was created in less than two years, to gradually also become drive-by-wire capable. Initial functional tests are currently being carried out. The HSWL 076 is already prepared for hybrid drives and has an integrated digital interface and monitoring systems. This means that the transmission is optimally geared to the use of assistance systems and autonomous driving functions.
Compact design with high efficiency
With its compact design, low weight of around 700kg, high power density and a top speed of up to 90km/h, the HSWL 076 is particularly suitable for light tracked vehicles in the 13 to 21 ton range. The integrated steering system enables precise control and high tactical maneuverability. The market launch is designed for long-term availability and attractive conditions, especially for programs with high production volumes.
