Additional Expertise Domains Not Neglected
At Defence Services Asia 2018 in Kuala Lumpur this week, land systems integrator Nexter Group will focus much of its attention on its extensive range of artillery systems and ammunition.
The 105 LG1 gun can be towed by a light vehicle, transported by a helicopter such as the PUMA or Bell 212, or delivered by parachute from a tactical transport aircraft such as the C130 HERCULES. The 155mm/52 CAESAR self-propelled artillery system will also be exhibited in mock-up form. These two systems now equip more than a dozen armies around the world. The FINDART fire control system will complete Nexter’s global solution for artillery arms. The entire ammunition range, from 20-155mm for land, naval and air-land systems will be on display also.
The company’s other areas of significant expertise will not be neglected, however. In the field of naval medium-calibre weapons systems, Nexter will present the NARWHAL and the 15A. The NARWHAL, combining the effectiveness of a 20M621 gun, electro-optical day/night cameras and a moving target tracking function, is ideally suited for surveillance and maritime police operations, as well as interception or self-defence. The 15A, a 20mm gun on an ultralight naval mounting, constitutes the ideal solution for the interception and self-defence missions.
The company will exhibit two mock-ups of the TITUS armoured vehicle in both its MTB and Homeland Security versions. This 6×6 armoured vehicle, adaptable to the operational requirements of both military and security forces, has high mobility on all types of terrain and offers high manoeuvrability capabilities, especially in urban and mountainous areas.
The FINDMP solution, providing tactical decision support for enemy, environment and field analysis will be demonstrated. FINDMP is used in command posts, in command vehicles and in dismounted configurations.
The Nexter Robotics NERVA surveillance and recognition mini-robot range, as well as the major Nuclear Biological Radiological Chemical risk-treatment solutions proposed by NBC-Sys, a subsidiary of Nexter Group, will complete the booth.
