Sentinel 2.0 and Guardian 30 on Show
Escribano Mechanical & Engineering will offer its full range of technology solutions during its first participation in the DSA exhibition in Kuala Lumpur, 28-31 March.
The company is already well-known to the Malaysian MoD, which has expressed interest in the possible use of the Sentinel 2.0 RWS on its patrol vessels. The remote weapon station incorporates a 12.7mm Browning-type machinegun, day and night cameras and a laser rangefinder and allows for automatic target tracking, enabling almost immediate action. The Royal Malaysian Navy is also expected to become a user of the APOLO electro-optical system, a new-generation gyro-stabilised system with the capability to prosecute multiple missions, from observation and surveillance to target acquisition and tracking. Its modular design allows for simple installation, maintenance, integration and communication with external sensors.
The Army will also undoubtedly have an interest in the Guardian 30, an RWS specifically designed for a 30mm main gun and offering the ATK Orbital Mk44S as standard. High definition ballistic calculation leads to high precision at extended ranges, and the station makes use of two next-generation EO systems based on Escribano’s APOLO technology. Guardian 30 operates day and night and is suitable for hunter-killer applications: it has been selected by the Spanish Army for the VCR 8×8 Dragón next-generation armoured vehicle programme.
