DLT to Offer Microsoft and IBM Solutions to Public Sector

Huge Boost to Cloud Migration and Digital Transformation

Leading government technology solutions aggregator DLT Solutions has partnered with both Microsoft and IBM to bring solid, modern capabilities to the US public sector, the company announced on 18-19 November.

The partnership with Microsoft will bring the latter’s AZURE and Modern Workplace Solutions services to market, leveraging DLT’s Cloud Navigator Program, including enhanced ITAR-compliant support through the company’s Confirmed Stateside Support – a support service purpose-built for the US public sector. The AZURE capabilities DLT will now distribute include AZURE Commercial Cloud, AZURE Government and Government Secret, as well as AZURE Infrastructure/Platform/Software-as-a-Service (IaaS/PaaS/Saas). Modern Workspace applications will include Microsoft 365, Microsoft Dynamics 365 and Microsoft Power Platform.

The Cloud Navigator Program will also host the several IBM solutions now available to DLT’s public sector clients, providing support to government customers and easing their cloud migration processes. The company is now positioned to bring IBM’s open hybrid cloud, AI, security and other software solutions to government end users. IBM Cloud Paks – fully containerized, integrated suites of software enabling implementation of intelligent workflows – will run on leading enterprise container platform Red Hat OpenShift and will enable clients to infuse AI to help automate complex processes.

Migrating workloads to the cloud is an important step on the pathway for digital transformation and IT modernization for government organizations,” said Chris Wilkinson, President, DLT Solutions, a Tech Data company, explaining that the agreements mean “DLT and our partners will be able to help these organizations accelerate their modernization goals and mission objectives with an expanded set of cloud portfolio solutions.” Citing Gartner’s findings that around one third of government organizations find an increasing urgency to transform digitally, he explained that “The addition of IBM’s extensive hybrid cloud, AI, security and software portfolio to DLT’s Cloud Navigator Program and our technology domains further enhances our ability to support our channel partners as they help fulfill the U.S. public sector’s digital transformation and modernization goals.”

Through Cloud Navigator, DLT’s partner network assesses cloud readiness, provides government customer cloud migration support and helps ensure these organizations maintain visibility, gain actionable intelligence, and achieve automation and accountability across their cloud investments.

We selected DLT because they’re a top-tier technology solutions aggregator in the US public sector with a strong channel partner ecosystem and a wide range of in-house contract vehicles,” commented Rick Wagner, President of Microsoft Federal. “Leveraging DLT’s Cloud Navigator Program, Confirmed Stateside Support and strong relationships in the federal and state, local and education (SLED) markets provides Microsoft with significantly more opportunities to secure new business and enhances our capabilities to better serve our US public sector customers.”

We’re seeing organizations increase their investments in hybrid cloud and AI as they accelerate their digital transformations,” added Jay Bellissimo, IBM’s General Manager for the US public and federal market. “This collaboration with [DLT parent company] Tech Data and DLT will expand our platforms’ footprint further into the partner ecosystem and with clients in the US government and education markets, which ultimately will provide them with the flexibility, security and innovation of IBM’s open hybrid cloud and AI solutions.”
