Diver Detection in Kazakhstan

SAES and Gydropribor to supply Kazakhstan with fourth Diver Detection Sonar

In June, SAES announced that it had signed a contract in Uralsk with Kazakhstan’s Zenit Shipyard for the purchase of a fourth Diver Detection Sonar (DDS-03) for defence ships. This comes three years after a memorandum of cooperation for joint production and marketing of DDS-03 was signed between SAES and Gydropribor Kazakhstan (which belongs to the Kazakshtan Engineering Group), resulting in the delivery of three systems for Kazakhstani vessels.

SAES General Director Antonio Cordero said: “We customise our products to the requirements of our clients and we believe this is the basis of their trust in SAES.”

Onboard Kazakhstani vessels, the three systems have already shown excellent results in tests carried out in the Caspian Sea, known for its unfavourable propagation profiles. The delivery of the fourth DDS-03 is scheduled for next year and firsts steps have been taken in order to supply more systems for 2018.

SAES and Gydropribor have also signed a protocol that will allow SAES to introduce other products and services into Kazakhstan, including those related to multi-influence signature measurement field (acoustic, electric, magnetic, seismic and pressure), such as a Multi-Influence Range Station (MIRS) for underwater-ship-signature measurement and Smart Multi-Influence Naval Mines (MINEA). The deal includes local manufacturing, engineering services and training.
