DEFEXPO 2018: Boeing Pitches Super HORNET

Boeing Pitches Super HORNET for India’s Advanced Medium Combat Aircraft

At DefExpo, Boeing is showcasing large scale models of  F/A-18 Super HORNET, CH-47F CHINOOK, KC-46 tanker, P-8 and AH-64 APACHE. A cockpit simulator of F/A-18 Super HORNET is also on display for visitors to experience.

Boeing is well entrenched in the Indian defence manufacturing industry. The P-8 and C-17 GLOBEMASTER III are already operational with the Indian defence forces to meet their strategic needs. Boeing has a joint venture with Tata Advanced Systems that is manufacturing fuselages for the AH-64 APACHE and several other structures for at their Hyderabad complex. Boeing is already invested heavily at MIHAAN Industrial complex at Nagpur.

In near future, Boeing will be delivering the AH-64 APACHE and CHINOOK helicopters to the Indian Air Force to further add to its airlift and strategic capability. With its linkages established with the suppliers and supply chain partners, Boeing is well entrenched in the Indian industrial base and the defence forces. Boeing’s pitch for the F/A 18 Super Hornet for the advanced medium combat aircraft programme of the Indian Air Force carries with it the weight of its integration with the Indian manufacturing ecosystem. Another factor that Boeing is pitching for the choice of F/A-18 Super HORNET is that it is a platform suited for the requirement of Indian Navy also. Boeing will like to be seen for its commitment and contribution to the Make in India programme.
