Enables Three New Vehicle Developments
Dutch vehicle designer Defenture has received an equity capital injection from Azur Investment Group, the company announced on 9 March. This has allowed further development of three new modular tactical vehicles.
Last summer, Defenture handed over the last of 75 VECTOR vehicles to the Dutch special forces, which quickly characterised it as ‘the new standard.’ Furthermore, the company recently signed a contract with the Dutch MoD for 249 SCORPION diesel quads.
Henk van der Scheer, CEO of Defenture, revealed that “We notice a strong need with our customers for unmanned vehicle systems, hybrid technology and emission reduction, topics we as Defenture anticipate […] We also have the ambition to increase our production capacity to at least 300 vehicles and 140 quads annually and to expand production abroad.” There is also a strong focus on further developing three new vehicle types, varying in weight from 3-10t, thanks to the modular rolling chassis.
Mostly build from the same components, these vehicle systems focus on standardisation, thus creating international logistical interoperability and operational co-operation. With the involvement of Azur Investment Group as a new shareholder, Defenture is ready for the future.
