DEFEA 2021: UVisions Highlights Advanced Anti-Armour Solutions

Loitering Munitions and Training Solutions with Advanced Capabilities

At DEFEA in Athens this week, UVision Air will present the HERO-120 and HERO-400EC loitering munitions with a significant anti-armour capability. HERO systems provide an accurate, effective, and highly lethal response to hard targets at significantly greater ranges than commonly available anti-tank guided missiles (ATGM).

As members of the HERO family, both munitions carry multi-purpose warheads for extended lethality against a wide range of targets, as well as having unique attack capabilities from any direction and angle, including top attack. With long endurance and low acoustic, visual and thermal signatures, they can locate, track and strike both static and moving targets with pinpoint accuracy. The ability to launch from a remote-controlled multi-canister launcher provides effective deployment of HERO from a variety of platforms – air, land and sea  – away from enemy lines.

Commenting on the fact that this is the first time the company has exhibited at DEFEA, UVision CEO Avi Mizrachi declared “We anticipate that this exhibition will pave the way for new collaborations in the area.”

HERO-30 incorporates a high level of precision attack and abort capabilities. This simple-to-operate system enable front-line forces to initiate operations, to respond to threats as they arise and to eliminate them with extreme accuracy.  Its advanced capabilities include high-precision target tracking and lock-on, a last-second mission abort facility, and re-engagement for a second attack or change of target. Versatile installation configurations (manpack, vehicle-mounted or stationary) make it ideally suited to a diverse range of operational applications.

The HERO-120 is a mid-range, anti-armour loitering munition that meets the complex requirements of the modern battlefield.  It is a high-precision smart munition with a unique aerodynamic structure that conducts pinpoint strikes against armour, personnel and materiel/structural targets. High precision and a wide range of multi-purpose warheads enable users to effectively engage targets, even in urban scenarios, with minimal collateral damage.

HERO-400EC is a long-range system with extended endurance of up to two hours and multi-purpose warheads capable of engaging a variety of static and moving targets. Excpetional manoeuvrability and an advanced mid-air abort facility enable automatic re-entry to loitering mode or re-engagement.

The HERO training and simulation system offers three configurations – classroom, portable or embedded in the operational control unit, offering a comprehensive solution for operators, and enabling a higher level of training flexibility. The classroom configuration provides a robust simulation solution, with a rich and versatile scenario generator, to cater for multiple trainees. The portable and embedded field simulator configurations give HERO operators the option of continuous hands-on training, at various levels, during deployment, maintaining the highest level of operational proficiency and readiness – anytime, anywhere.
