Dassault Celebrates Maintenance Reform

RAVEL and OCEAN Contracts Providing Effective Support

Close on the heels of French Defence Minister Florence Parly’s progress report on maintenance reform in the aeronautical sector on 15 October, Dassault Aviation issued a statement celebrating it own involvement in the process, serving the French armed forces daily in supporting the RAFALE, MIRAGE 2000, ATL2 and FALCON fleets.

The decision by the French MoD to verticalise maintenance of RAFALE and ATL2 through the RAVEL and OCEAN contracts ensures that French air power benefits from optimum fleet availability. Since the introduction of the RAVEL contract 18 months ago, Dassault Aviation and its industrial partners, including Thales, now ensure 76% availability of the RAFALE, exceeding the contractual target of 73%.

Service quality will further improve over time, as planned, thanks in particular to an information system built in cooperation with military staff by Dassault Aviation; a tool that draws on Dassault Systèmes’ expertise in data management and analysis, based on its cloud technology and EXALEAD software.

I want to make sure that the French Air and Space Force and Navy are satisfied at all times with the support provided by Dassault Aviation teams. Through our relationship of trust with the armed forces and the Directorate of Aircraft Maintenance, we are constantly looking for every opportunity for improvement,” commented Eric Trappier, Dassault Aviation Chairman and CEO.

Close cooperation between air base and Dassault personnel has ensured that effective support has continued in recent months, despite the restrictions stemming from the COVID-19 crisis.
