Curtiss Wright’s DuraDBH-672 Digital Beachhead promises to mitigate GPS jamming effects
Curtiss Wright’s DuraDBH-672 Digital Beachhead contains an internal atomic clock to provide a precise time source for a vehicle’s inertial navigation system which can provide an additional time source should GPS satellite signals be jammed or disrupted. In turn, the product can be connected to a vehicle’s ethernet to provide a precise time source for other subsystems equipping the platform.
Curtiss Wright told MONS that the US Army’s TARDEC (Tank Automotive Research, Development and Engineering Centre) is currently reviewing the product for inclusion on current and future US Army vehicles. The firm continued that, “the key message is that COTS (Commercial Off-The-Shelf) based assured position navigation timing is a reality.”
