First of 16 River Patrol Boats Soon to be Delivered

In early December the first LPR-40 Mk II river patrol boat for the Colombian Navy, built by COTECMAR, successfully completed its test programme and will enter service shortly, the Company announced.

ARC VICAHA is the first of three LPR-40 Mk II2 being built simultaneously at COTECMAR’s Catragena shipyard. Plan Faro (the 2030 Force Plan) envisions a total of 16 such vessels in the class.

An entirely new design, the VICHADA-class features a Dyneema armour suite specifically configured for the class. Supplied in 37 modules and installed direct to the vessel’s superstructure by Colombian company Dynacomp, the armour provides lightweight and comprehensive ballistic protection.
