To be Replaced by RAN Frigate in 2020

CAPTAIN PRAT (FFG-11), one of two L-class frigates, was decommissioned by the Chilean Navy on 21 December last year. Built in 1981 at the Royal Schelde Shipyards, it was commissioned into the Royal Netherlands Navy in September 1986 as HNlMS WITTE DE WITH (F813) and transferred to the Chilean Navy in May 2006.

Together with sister ship, the ALMIRANTE LATORRE, the CAPTAIN PRAT will be replaced in 2020 by two ADELAIDE-class frigates purchased from the Royal Australian Navy.
