Objective to Enhance Anatarctic Operations
The Fuerza Aérea de Chile is to acquire two Basler BT-67 aircraft, powered by Pratt & Whitney Canada PT6 engines.
A remanufactured and modified version of the venerable DC-3 DAKOTA, offered by Basler Turbo Conversions of Oshkosh, WI/USA, the BT-67s will be used to enhance Chile’s operational capability in Antarctica. Reports indicate the two aircraft will be permanently based in the Magellanes region, with crews assigned from the FAdC’s base at Punta Arenas.
