Diehl Defence holds representative offices in Berlin and Coblenz, the management of which will change as of July 1, 2025: Thomas Schüller, who has held this position within the company to date, will hand over to his successor Oliver Schmelzer in the middle of the year and will retire on December 31, 2025.

Thomas Schüller has been Head of the Diehl Defence representative offices in the German capital and at the headquarters of the Federal Office of Bundeswehr Equipment, Information Technology and In-Service Support (BAAINBw) in Koblenz since 2013. Before joining the defence industry, he spent 20 years in the German Armed Forces in flying duties on the F-4F and Tornado aircraft and in various staff assignments.

Oliver Schmelzer has been Head of the Diehl Group’s representative office in Berlin since 2020, where he was already heavily involved in issues concerning the Diehl Defence Corporate Division. Before joining the Diehl Group in 2009, Oliver Schmelzer had been a research assistant and office manager for members of the German Bundestag’s Budget and Defence Committee since 1998. He is an active reserve officer with the rank of frigate captain.
