Over 1,500 Vehicles to be Delivered, Assembled in Canada
Canadian Minister of Defence Harjit Sajjan was on hand at Canadian Forces Base Petawawa in Ontario on 3 October to mark the official delivery by Mack Defense of the first Medium Support Vehicle System (MSVS) Standard Military Pattern (SMP) trucks. Mack Defense President David Hartzell and the company’s MSVS SMP programme manager, Alan Gauthier, were also present at the ceremony.
Mack, a Volvo Group company, is under contract to deliver over 1,500 of the 8×8 vehicles and an initial five years of In-Service Support for the fleet, operating in Canada and in dispersed locations around the world. Deliveries will include multiple variants, such as cargo, material handling cranes, load handling systems and mobile repair trucks.
Key strategic partners for the programme, which involves assembly in Prevost’s Sainte-Claire, Québec, facility, include: Prevost; Dumur Industries Ltd; EODC, Inc.; and Link Suspensions of Canada (Raydan Division).
