Designed for daily operations
While CamelBak have a full range of military backpacks (see MONS entry here), the new URBAN ASSAULT is designed not only with travel and daily operations in mind, but also for covert action and instances where one does not want to be placed in the tactical arena. This admin pack is ready for an easy exit from the office or an efficient pass through airport security.
Including a padded compartment that is cushioned on the front, back and bottom, one can drop ones laptop and tablet into it without a care. The URBAN ASSAULT’s front organiser holds everything and includes a micromesh front pocket and Hi Viz lining to make locating items easy. The main compartment features a full clamshell opening, enabling for easy organisation, while a zipped side pocket holds power cables and the such and a somewhat covert rear-panel security pocket holds a wallet or passport. Of course CamelBak will include a slip in bottle pocket.
At 19.7x13x13in (50x33x33cm), 1,950cuin (32l), and 2.7lbs (1.24kg) this pack is easy to carry, stow, or otherwise use.
Having been using CamelBak backpacks for years, we are VERY happy with their performance and ruggedness. The only flaw we see is the AIR DIRECTOR back panel that CamelBak touts for increased ventilation. We came out with very sweaty backs.
What I personally do not understand is, how CameBak could discontinue the AMAZING old URBAN ASSAULT XL design, which I still carry and will always treasure. The old bag was THE bag to take on any operation.
