Expansion of Existing Contract – Options up to Five Years
CAE announced on 30 March it has been awarded a contract by the NATO Support & Procurement Agency to provide comprehensive training services for the NATO E-3A Airborne Warning and Control System (AWACS) aircrew training programme at Geilenkirchen in Germany.
The new contract, with options to extend up to five years, expands on the existing contract for provision of maintenance and support services on the E-3A flight deck simulator and flight training device. In addition to continuing to maintain and support the training devices, CAE will now provide aircrew instructors, mission simulator operators, courseware development and crew resource management training.
“We are pleased to expand our relationship with the NATO E-3A Component and now provide integrated training services to support the mission training of NATO E-3A aircrews,” said Marc-Olivier Sabourin, CAE’s Vice President and General Manager, Europe/Africa. “This programme is another example of CAE leveraging its training systems integration experience and expertise to help our defence customers enhance safety, efficiency and readiness.”
CAE has been involved with the NATO E-3A training programme since producing and delivering the flight deck simulator in 1982, since which time it has provided maintenance and support services as well as a range of simulator upgrades and modifications. Currently, CAE is conducting a major modernisation effort on the E-3A simulators to ensure concurrency with upgrades to the NATO fleet.
