Additional Modules Address Field Food Safety Issues inter alia
In January, the Bundeswehr selected Rheinmetall to remodel further aspects of its modular medical facilities. The special modular medical facility (MSE) containers now ordered will be used, for example, as food safety laboratories (LCM), with relevant work to be completed by December.
Fabricated since the 1990s and constituting a family of modular medical facilities, multiple variants of these units have been procured and are now undergoing comprehensive regeneration. They consist of rescue facilities and field hospitals for use in operational theatres: individual systems fulfil specialised roles – such as the LCM task, in which the onboard technical and medical equipment helps to assure food safety in the field. These stackable container systems are CSC-classified, meaning they can be transported on container ships.
“This is the second time that we’ve won a contract of this kind. Rheinmetall Project Solutions GmbH can look now forward to more orders in this segment,” commented Dr Deniz Akitürk, Managing Director of Rheinmetall Project Solutions GmbH. Responsible for mobile deployable mission solutions, the specially-created Rheinmetall subsidiary has bundled the Group’s resources and capabilities for mission support since 2019, providing users with long-term mission support through specific services.
