Two Bell 412 to Assist in Border Control and Counter-Narcotics
Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro has requested Congress to authorise two Federal Police Bell 412 helicopters be donated to Paraguay, following a proposal made by the Minister of Justice and Public Security, Sergio Moro.
The proposal aims to strengthen control of the border between Paraguay and Brazil, specifically in the context of the fight against drug trafficking.
The Brazilian Federal Police will invest around BRL103,000 (€18,600) in the donation, including transport of the two helicopters from Brasilia to Foz de Iguazú, where they will be taken up by the Paraguayan government. The donation will be made once approved in the Brazilian Chamber of Deputies, from which there is, as yet, no indication as to a date on which the proposal might be evaluated.
