Multi-Object Kill Vehicle Increases Performance
On 12 May the US Missile Defense Agency (MDA) awarded Boeing a 35-month, $58.6 million contract to demonstrate its evolved Multi-Object Kill Vehicle (MOKV) technology.
Boeing was contracted by the MDA in 2015 to design and develop MOKV, which increases interceptors’ ability to locate and destroy incoming missiles. The company made recommendations during performance of the contract for technology risk reduction efforts for this next phase.
“Our MOKV concept gives the Missile Defense Agency flexibility in eliminating threats more efficiently and affordably,” Paul Geery, Vice President, Mission Solutions at Boeing’s Phantom Works, explained. “We’ve created a robust, resilient design that benefits from our extensive experience in advanced seekers.”
