ACFFAA, the Peruvian Armed Forces Purchasing Agency, has awarded a $10.4 million contract to Aviation Global Group in Doral, FL, for the supply of a used Boeing 737-400F for the Peruvian Air Force.
The aircraft – alongside a 737-300 scheduled for delivery by D&S Aviation (Fort Lauderdale, FL) at the end of November – will substantially increase the operational capabilities of Grupo Aéreo No. 8 at the General Armando Revoredo Iglesias Base, located at Lima/Jorge Chávez International Airport. The unit’s fleet currently comprises a Boeing 737-200, a 737-528 which serves as the presidential aircraft, and three Antonov An-32Bs, a Learjet 45XR, two Lockheed L-100-20 HERCULES and four Leonardo C-27J SPARTANs.
The 737-400F features a side door, will accept containers and pallets of a variety of sizes and configurations and has a payload capacity of 21,000kg. Manufactured in 1992, it has had a varied service history with Royal Air Maroc, Atlas Blue and, most recently AerCaribe. It was converted to the -400F freighter configuration in 2013 by PEMCO at its facilities in Jinan, China.
