Hardware and Software Combination Enables Secure, Reliable Connectivity

Bittium is complementing its extensive offering with Tough Mobile 2 Tactical, a complete tactical solution enabling soldier mobile communications.

Based on the ultra-secure, rugged Bittium Tough Mobile 2 smartphone, connected to either a Bittium Tough SDR Handheld or third-party tactical radio, the solution is compatible with a range of battle management systems, enabling real-time, efficient creation of situational awareness in tactical networks. The Tough Mobile 2 smartphone offers the soldier a wider range of applications to be used in tactical networks, while its large display enables a better user interface.

The solution is completed by software that enables secure communication and accessories designed for military use:

• Bittium Secure Call application enables end-to-end encrypted voice and video calls and messages with attachments in closed IP networks with no dependency on public Internet or cloud services;
• Bittium Secure Suite device management and encryption software, enables efficient use of the information security features of the smartphone, as well as reliable mobile device management, remote attestation, and securing network connections;
• Bittium Tactical Power Pack enables uninterrupted field use for the smartphone and Bittium Tough SDR Handheld radio combination;
• Rugged tactical case protects the phone and enables easy use and mounting to soldier gear with its PALS/MOLLE mount.
