Command Post Training at Battalion and Company Levels
Demonstrating just how intuitive MASA Group’s flagship product SWORD can be, the Belgian Army has customised its SWORD solution in the record-breaking time of just three months, MASA announced on 3 September.
Having selected the SWORD next-generation wargaming software as its constructive simulation solution in February, the army has used it for command post training at battalion and company level at one of its largest simulation centres in Leopoldsburg. The service has completed advanced training of the simulation centre’s staff and conducted an exercise using SWORD as the constructive simulation solution. Working in tandem with Virtual Battlespace 3 and using a radio communication application to record aspects of the exercise for exploitation in the after action review, SWORD has more than adequately demonstrated its flexibility and its ‘fit for role’ nature. The Belgian Army’s ability to tailor the solution to its specific needs, rapidly and with no apparent issues, is testimony to the software’s adaptability.
“It’s been a great experience working with the Belgian Army. The fact they have managed to personalise SWORD in three months is significant evidence that our wargame solution can be adapted quickly by users to address specific needs. At MASA we pride ourselves on our ability to work alongside customers to understand new and developing requirements. We look forward to supporting the Belgian Army in the coming months to ensure they continue to maximise their experience with SWORD, as well as supporting all SWORD users around the world,” commented MASA’s Managing Director, Marc de Fritsch.
