RAWL-03 3D Air Surveillance Radar to be Jointly Marketed

Navratna Defence PSU Bharat Electronics Ltd (BEL) recently signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Saab for joint marketing of the L-Band 3D Long Range Air Surveillance Radar, RAWL-03, co-developed by the two companies.

RAWL-03 will be offered in both ship-borne and land-based configurations and is intended to furnish a cost-effective L-band 3D radar for early detection and tracking of air and surface targets, thereby enabling rapid engagement of fire control systems. The system is based on the state-of-the-art GaN TR Module technology and incorporates the latest Signal Processing techniques.

The agreement further highlights Saab’s policy of developing close industrial partnerships in India as that nation becomes a bigger and more sophisticated consumer and co-producer of complex systems.
