PRC-2090 HF Radios and Tracking Software
Australian HF/VHF specialist Barrett Communications has been awarded a contract to supply the US-funded counter-narcotics programme of a Central Asian republic.
The company will provide a range of PRC-2090 HF manpack and vehicle-mounted radios with tracking software. The HF systems will provide critical communications and tracking capabilities to forces assisting in securing the national borders and controlling illicit trafficking in narcotics.
The client’s rapidly changing operational environment requires an HF system that can be quickly adapted to mission requirements. Barrett’s PRC-2090 is designed to be easily and smoothly interchangeable from man pack to vehicular configurations. This is achieved by the transceiver being cassette-loaded into the vehicle docking station for mobile use and returned to a manpack configuration for dismounted patrol missions.
“We are committed to providing products and solutions suited to our customer’s needs. Intuitive ease of use is paramount in operations such as these,” commented company CEO, Andrew Burt.
