General Purpose and Penetrator Warhead Bombs
The US Defense Security Cooperation Agency (DSCA) informed Congress on 18 May of State Department approval for a potential sale of air dropped munitions valued at $45 million for the Royal Bahraini Air Force.
The government of Bahrain has requested 3,200 General Purpose (GP) and Penetrator Warhead (PW) bombs, to include 1,500 MK-82 500lb GP, 600 MK-83 1,000lb GP, 600 MK-84 2,000lb GP and 500 BLU-109 2,000lb PW bomb bodies. Also included are spares and repair parts, support equipment, personnel training and training equipment, shipping and logistics services, publications and technical documentation, US government and contractor technical support services, containers, munitions components, test equipment, and other related elements of logistics and programme support.
The US government proposes to satisfy this requirement from its own existing stocks.
