US$140 million Multi-Year Contract
Boeing, as prime contractor, has awarded BAE Systems a multi-year Engineering & Manufacturing Development contract, valued at US$140 million, for the EW system for the US Air Force’s Eagle Passive Active Warning Survivability System (EPAWSS) for the F-15 EAGLE aircraft. The contract is a follow-on to previously announced EPAWSS award and signals significant progress in the Technology Maturation and Risk Reduction phase of the programme.

“Recognising the importance of providing this enhanced EW technology to our warfighters, our team responded during the first phase of the programme by not only meeting all set programme milestones, but in some cases exceeding expectations by several weeks,” said Brian Walters, VP & General Manager of Electronic Combat Solutions at BAE Systems.

EPAWSS aims to update the aircraft with advanced EW technology, to maximise operational effectiveness and survivability against current and future threats. The all-digital system provides offensive and defensive EW options, offering fully integrated radar warning, geo-location, situational awareness and self-protection solutions for pilot and aircraft. Able to detect and defeat surface and airborne threats in a signal-dense contested environment, its countermeasures enable the aircraft to achieve deeper penetration of modern integrated air defence systems. The digital system has a smaller footprint than previous EW suites, allowing it to integrate seamlessly and remain current.
