$699 Million Five-Year Deal
BAE Systems has won a contract to support the US Army’s Defense Supercomputing Resource Centers for five years, worth $699 million.
The deal includes “program-wide services for high performance computer (HPC) users,” the company stated. The DSRC programme provides DoD with supercomputing capabilities, high-speed network communications and computational science expertise. These are all vital parts of DoD’s research and development, test and evaluation, and “acquisition engineering” activities, says the company. The project is managed by the Army’s Engineer Research and Development Center (ERDC).
“Our team brings the high performing computing capabilities necessary to support the invaluable work of the DSRCs around the US,” Lisa Hand, VP/GM of BAE Systems Integrated Defense Solutions, commented. “This award reaffirms the best-in-class experience our Huntsville team delivers for our government partners as a leading systems integrator of solutions and advanced technologies.”
The company says it will “provide the Army with management and technical support to advance HPC services, capabilities, infrastructure, and technologies” for the Navy’s DSRC, located at Stennis Space Center, MS; the Army ERDC’s DSRC, in Vicksburg, MS; the Air Force Research Laboratory’s DSRC, at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, OH; and the Army Research Laboratory’s DSRC, at Aberdeen Proving Ground, MD.
