$368 Million for US and UK Submarine Weapons Systems Support
BAE Systems announced on 14 December that the USN Strategic Systems Programs (SSP) has awarded it a systems engineering and support services contract with a potential value of up to US$368 million over its five year life.
SSP oversees the strategic and attack weapons systems on-board current US Navy (USN OHIO-class submarines (and their future replacement) as well as the UK’s current VANGUARD- and future DREADNOUGHT-classes.
Under the contract the company will continue to support weapons systems integration and provide test engineering services and special test equipment for SSP. The team will also provide IT support, develop fleet documentation materials, assist with training programmes, conduct facility maintenance monitoring, and offer nuclear and conventional weapons safety support.
