Minimises False Alarm Rate
A new release of the edge-based AXIS PERIMETER DEFENDER intrusion detection analytics now supports AI-based human and vehicle classifications for perimeter protection use cases, the company announced on 23 September.
The new AI-based functionality, which, when combined with calibration, ensures minimal false alarms, is relevant for the new AXIS Q1951-E/AXIS Q1952-E thermal imaging cameras. It gives users of these cameras three different methods of implementing the analytics application: standard calibration mode; AI mode without calibration; or combined calibration and AI mode for minimal false alarms. All other cameras compatible with AXIS PERIMETER DEFENDER will have access to only the standard calibration mode.
The new, halogen-free, robust cameras, enabling reliable detection and verification are ideal for perimeter security and long-range detection, delivering high-quality thermal video streams 24/7, in all weathers, under any light conditions. The Q1951-E and AXIS Q1952-E offer optimal image contrast, and the latter also features VGA 640×480 thermal resolution for wide-area coverage. These thermal cameras can identify different heat sources emitting the same amount of thermal energy, and with thermal palettes make it easier and more efficient to interpret a scene.
Both cameras come with AXIS Motion Guard, AXIS Fence Guard, and AXIS Loitering Guard preinstalled for proactive surveillance. Also available is AXIS PERIMETER DEFENDER with AI-based functionality for object classification to detect and classify humans and vehicles. The cameras include a microphone connector to enable audio capabilities and it’s possible to add custom-made third-party analytics as well as audio analytics to trigger events for instance when detecting aggressive behaviour or gunshots.
