Joins MTU Aero Engines & Rheinmetall
As Sikorsky‘s, a Lockheed Martin company, CH-53K is competing in the succession for the German Armed Forces’ (Bundeswehr) CH-53 GS/GA, Autoflug now joins MTU Aero Engines and Rheinmetall as a third German teammate in competing in the German Air Force’s (Luftwaffe) Heavy Lift Helicopter (STH) programme.
Autoflug manufactures aircraft seats, mission equipment for medevac and auxiliary fuel systems. It is developing safety seats for current Germany helicopter fleets to improve crash safety. The system, according to the company, are of low weight and are quick to fit and remove.
The company plans to present a prototype of a troop seat and a tank solution for range extension of the aircraft at ILA Berlin Air Show 25-29 April, for which MILITARY TECHNOLOGY will be publishing the Defence Show Dailies.
