The order is worth tens of millions of euros
The Austrian Federal Ministry of Defence ordered decontamination systems from Kärcher Futuretech for tens of millions of euros, the company has announced on 24 October.
Kärcher Futuretech is expected to develop a complete pre-series model initially and, following a trial phase by the Austrian Army, will manufacture several complete systems. The order also includes systems for the Austrian Air Force.
The system developed for the Austrian Armed Forces includes, among other things, the technologically latest vacuum decontamination module for sensitive equipment and several solutions for the decontamination of people, infrastructure, equipment and vehicles.
The idea is to have a highly modern, mobile and very quickly deployable solution at hand, which can be set up very quickly.
The focus of the customer’s requirements is on mobility and air loadability. Kärcher Futuretech will, therefore, develop particularly light individual modules for the Austrian Armed Forces, which can also be flown by helicopter into rough terrain or by transport aircraft.
“With this order, we are further expanding our position as the world’s leading manufacturer of military decontamination systems,” explained Markus Barner, Managing Director of Kärcher Futuretech. “We work with a kind of construction kit that enables us to always respond individually to the needs and requirements of the respective customer via changes to the individual components.”
