Potential Sale Estimated at $985 Million
The US Defense Security Cooperation Agency has informed Congress of State Department approval of a request from the government of Australia for additional MH-60R helicopters.
Australia has requested a total of 12 MH-60Rs, 30 T-700-GE-401C engines (including six spares) and a wide variety of ancillary equipment and logistics support, for a total estimated sale value of $985 million (€848 million). The principal roles to be performed by the helicopters, destined for the Royal Australian Navy (RAN), will be ASW and ant-surface warfare, SAR, vertical replenishment and communications relay. Principal US contractor will be Lockheed Martin Rotary and Mission Systems, Owego, NY.
