Superior ‘See-Spot’ Performance Under all Battlefield Conditions
The newest addition to a line of high-performance short-wave infra-red (SWIR) cameras developed by Quantum Imaging (an SCD USA subsidiary) – the high definition QI-SWIR-HD10 – will be introduced at AUSA in Washington this week. The camera’s superior laser ‘see-spot’ performance, reliability under all battlefield conditions and low size, weight and power consumption (SWaP) make it suitable for use in a variety of military and industrial applications, including laser beam profiling, semiconductor and solar cell production, enhanced vision and persistent surveillance.
With SCD’s latest Low SWaP 10μm pixel pitch detector, advanced programmable on-chip features and a very low noise performance, the QI-SWIR-HD10 provides extended spectral range, a full-frame 2-dimensional capture and X-Y position of short duration laser pulses in both day and night conditions. Multiple asynchronous spot events can be tracked in the same field of view. This capability is completely independent of imaging, assuring optimal imaging capability with laser spot detection.
Following the successful alliance in February between SCD.USA Infrared, LLC and Quantum Imaging, Quantum recently announced significant investment in space and equipment infrastructure, growth that allows additional capacity in manufacturing, engineering and customer support. “The combination of the larger space with SCD investments in new infrastructure is expected to increase Quantum’s camera production capacity by roughly 500% over its current level,” observed President and CEO of SCD.USA, Robert McDaniel.
