AUSA 2017: Jenoptik: Chosen Partner for US Armed Forces

New production facility in Rochester Hills, MI

With a portfolio of products already in service with US and coalition armed forces worldwide, Jenoptik’s Defense & Civil Systems segment continues to support military customers with a breadth of solutions aimed at extending the operational and tactical flexibility of their military platforms and systems.

Its full range of energy solutions and electromechanical and sensor systems designed for both military and civil applications makes Jenoptik one of the world leaders able to adapt to present and future demands. Jenoptik as an integrated group divides its activities into three segments: Optics & Life Science, Mobility and Defense & Civil Systems. Jenoptik traces its roots back 170 years with a rich history of inventing, conceptualising, innovating, developing, testing, and manufacturing high-performance and customised components for ground combat vehicles, naval platforms, aircraft and reconnaissance systems.

Over decades, the Defense & Civil Systems segment has evolved as a “one-stop shop” for customer-specific solutions for the spectrum of military platforms, with products ranging from energy systems and optical sensors to stabilisation systems, aviation subsystems, and composites. Permanent operability and reliable protection against failure is guaranteed by the company’s highly specialised customer service.

Jenoptik is successful in adapting to new markets, addressing new demands in any of these fields by offering customisable as well as off-the-shelf solutions. Its involvement in various vehicle projects in the US, including the Hellhound light reconnaissance vehicle, is testament to its capability to transition to a proven and reliable supplier of the US Armed Forces. Jenoptik boasts expanding capabilities and capacities for the development and manufacture of advanced products. With its production sites in the United States, it envisions new forms of business-to-government and business-to-business models aimed at empowering co-development, co-manufacturing, and co-marketing with partners in the country.

In a strategic decision towards Jenoptik’s global growth, the company put into operation a new production facility in Rochester Hills, MI/USA, in May 2017, further intensifying its close cooperation with industrial partners and customers in the nation. It takes the form of an advanced technology campus for the engineering, manufacture, sale, and service of energy systems, industrial metrology systems, and laser processing systems.

The new production facility is the new focal point of the group‘s business in the United States, offering an option for expansion, in the mid-term, for other Jenoptik activities, and representing a “technology hub” for the growth of Jenoptik’s business on the continent.

Rochester Hills adds significant expertise to the existing portfolio of development and production sites in the country, including Jupiter, FL, and El Paso, TX.

Jenoptik Advanced Systems, LLC, is exhibiting on booth #6817.

Please feel free to visit the booth at any time to find out more about its brandnew air-cooled generator technology and other technologies for government and military applications.
