RADES Rapidly Deployable Road Demolition Charge in US for First Time

Spanish energetic systems specialist EXPAL will focus visitors’ attention on their innovative demolition charges and systems at AUSA in Washington this week.

RADES, the company’s rapidly deployable road demolition system, will be show on US soil for the first time. Among other functions, this system can block airports, runways and other communication channels. Its deployment time is extraordinarily short, allowing for the initiation of several charges in just a few minutes and is capable of perforate up to 12 in (30cm) of concrete.

EXPAL USA will also showcase innovative technology developed for the S-402 electronic initiation system. This system minimises involuntary initiation due to static, stray or induced currents. Its solid configuration, digital electronics, safety of operation and its light weight and volume, make the system ideal for use by Special Operation Forces, explosive ordnance disposal specialists, combat engineers or rescue teams.
