AUSA 2018: Digital Barriers Showcases Cutting-Edge Technologies

Wide range of solutions suitable for both covert & overt operations

Digital Barriers, which works extensively with US military and flagship law enforcement agencies, is showcasing a range of cutting-edge technologies that enable analytics at the edge on booth #543.

When it is imperative to know what is going on, no matter what the scenario, location or environment, our cutting-edge technology ensures it can be done quickly and efficiently,” the company states. “Our wide range of solutions are suitable for both covert and overt operations. They are:”

SmartVis Identifier is a live facial recognition system that allows security officers to match subjects against a watchlist of known individuals anytime, anywhere. Designed to work in the real world where other systems cannot.

SafeZone is a government-accredited video analytics based intrusion-detection solution.

EdgeVis Shield is a border protection system providing early warning intrusion alerts with the help of remote ground sensors.

These are all built on Digital Barriers’ military-grade ultra-low bandwidth real-time video streaming technology. The company develops and deploys surveillance solutions that are designed to address the specific needs of modern defence forces.

EdgeVis Live enables real-time video streaming with none of these issues. It requires no infrastructure, can be set up in minutes and was specifically developed to overcome the problems of streaming over low bandwidth wireless networks, and will reliably deliver usable and continuous video and audio even over GPRS/2G/Satellite at bandwidths as low as 9kbps. Even over constrained networks, there is the option to zoom in and retrieve high-resolution images.

It is a complete solution and includes the design, installation of cameras into or onto vehicles and real-time streaming to any device. This allows the user to implement the solution according to one’s exact requirements, making the company a one-stop partner for surveillance capabilities. “There are significant savings in data too as our unique technology uses around 60% less bandwidth than standard video-transmission systems, making video feeds cost effective as well as viable,” the company continues. “Video can be distributed to central command and other mobile units as required and integrated into existing video management systems.”

EdgeVis Shield combines this low-bandwidth video-streaming technology with ultra low-power ground sensors for operational flexibility and cost-effectiveness. “Our covert sensors weigh just 0.4kg, are simple to camouflage, have a unique screw-in design for ease of use and can be deployed quickly with minimal training to monitor any seismic activity,” Digital Barriers states. “Remote live viewing and camera control provide teams with visual confirmation of intrusions for an intelligent response. So multiple sites can be monitored, while response units are able to access the shared operational picture and contribute to it.”
