Programmes for the US Army’s Readiness Recovery
As of 5 July, Cubic Mission Solutions was providing a wide swathe of support for the service’s Program Executive Office Command Control Communications-Tactical (PEO C3T) – Project Manager, Tactical Network, whose portfolio includes network modernisation, mission network and satellite communications.
Lawrence Hollister, the company’s Executive Director, noted his industry team was bringing to bear Cubic materiel solutions to support this customer, “including: GATR Expeditionary satellite communications terminals; DVICE (DTECH Virtual Infrastructure Configuration Engine) for unified network transport; DTECH Secure Networking hardware for CCE (commercial coalition enclave) system with Vocality Land Mobile Radio – Radio over Internet Protocol solutions for joint and coalition interoperability; and finally DTECH secure networking hardware in small form factor and reduced size, weight and power with commercial solutions for classified certification for command post mobility and survivability, providing modularity for the scalability of the integrated tactical network.”
While solutions are in place to meet current life-cycle programme requirements, Cubic is keeping its eyes on other emerging priorities in the service’s C4ISR space, two of which are: unified network transport, concerned with simplifying the burden on the signal planner with a combination of software and hardware, as well as optimising radio networks and ensuring resilient line-of-sight connectivity; and command post mobility and survivability – concerned with trying to shrink the footprint of command posts by eliminating as much equipment as possible, whether cables, tents or large generators.
