Start Production of First Enhanced Night Vision Goggles With Next-Generation Mobility
L3 Warrior Mission Solutions received a U$90 million delivery order from the US Army Contracting Command for the first lot of its new Enhanced Night Vision Goggle – Binocular (ENVG-B). L3’s technology will provide soldiers with true next-generation binocular night vision goggles and supports the US Army’s Soldier Lethality Cross-Functional Team (CFT) priorities of improved situational awareness, mobility, lethality and protection.
“L3 continues to invest in technology and innovation that make our world a safer place,” said Lynn Bollengier, Vice President and General Manager of L3 Warrior Mission Solutions. “We are proud to support the US Army and ensure that our soldiers have the technology and capability to complete their mission and return home safely.”
This delivery order is associated with the $391 million ENVG-B contract the company received earlier this year.
On 18 June, L3 announced that it has been awarded a three-year, $391 million contract from the US Army Contracting Command to provide soldiers with true next-generation Binocular Night Vision Goggles that improve mobility, targeting and maneuverability for ground forces.
ENVG-B also includes a new high-resolution display and an embedded soldier wireless personal area network, rapid target acquisition and augmented reality algorithms to interface with the US Army’s Nett Warrior, enhance battlefield situational awareness and increase lethality beyond the individual soldier. The complete system will interface with the Army’s next-generation family of weapon sights, while enhancing interoperability and data sharing.
