Modular and Flexible Candidate for Bulgarian Army Requirement
At HEMUS 2018 in Plovdiv, Bulgaria, 30 May-3 June, Otokar promotes its ARMA 8×8 armoured fighting vehicle. Observers believe the company is seriously eyeing the Bulgarian Army’s Battalion Battle Group (BBG) acquisition programme, for which ARMA may well be an appropriate candidate.
ARMA is a modular, multi-wheeled vehicle with superior tactical and technical features. Thanks to its mobility, high levels of mine and ballistic protection, and medium- and high-calibre weapon system integration options, ARMA is capable of fulfilling battlefield, peace keeping and humanitarian relief missions in the most challenging terrain and climatic conditions. Available in multiple configurations, the ARMA 8×8 has an optional amphibious capability and can be fitted with a variety of weapon systems from light machine guns through medium-calibre (25-30mm) autocannon to 105mm cannon.
“Our strength in the defence industry is driven by our experience, engineering and R&D capabilities, and successful use of technology. Today, over 30,000 Otokar military vehicles are in service in many different parts of the world. The success of our vehicles has always been a reference for new orders. Otokar as a registered NATO and United Nations supplier is ready to meet Bulgarian Armed Forces’ needs with its wide product range. Apart from the our displayed ARMA 8×8 we are well aware of the further potential in the country for our 6×6 and 4×4 vehicles.
