Level 6 OFT Provides Required Levels of Fidelity and Flexibility
The Argentine Air Force inaugurated its new simulator for the T-6C TEXAN II on 9 December, at the Military Aviation School in Córdoba.
A complete simulator was an integral part of the contract for the T-6C training system, and allows substantial improvement in the quality of training. It provided what had been a missing link for Air Force pilot training, paving the way for flying with future generation weapon systems, reducing the time taken to adapt to them and the wear and tear on materiel this entails.
The simulator – more precisely, a level 6 Operational Flight Trainer (OFT), allows for the simulation of real procedures and situations, both on the ground and in flight. Emergencies and critical situations can be replicated, as well as specific situations appropriate to individual learning objectives.
Acquisition of the OFT will contribute not only to the quality and professionalism of trainees, but also to the maintenance of a high level of training for the instructor staff of the Air School Group.
