ARS1,073 Million for 54 ATEGO
The Argentine MoD is investing some ARS1,073 million (€9.3 million) in a total of 54 new Mercedes Benz ATEGO 1726 4×4 trucks. The procurement will enable the Argentine Army to rebuild its transport and logistics capacities.
The result of a competitive tender, the procurement was managed through the public supply administration and Mercedes Benz is expected to militarise the trucks with several modifications, including to both cabin and cargo space modules. In particular, the troop transport option will feature an anti-tip system, new upholstered seats with backrests for 17 passengers, and three-point harness-type seat belts, which will be developed and manufactured in Argentina.
