Billion-dollar Integration Partner
Anduril Industries has announced it has been awarded a contract worth almost $1 billion to become the counter-unmanned systems integration partner to US Special Operations Command (SOCOM).
The contract, valued at $968 million, makes Anduril a systems integration partner to SOCOM and tasks the firm with delivering, advancing and sustaining counter-unmanned capabilities for US special forces, wherever they operate. The capability can be delivered as a traditional product, but the contract also allows for Anduril to provide counter-unmanned capability as a service.
The company makes a family of counter-unmanned technologies. The Lattice operating system is at the heart of these, which also include the Sentry Tower and Anvil interceptor unmanned air system. Lattice is an AI-powered software product that ingests and analyses data from sensors to provide real-time intelligence while minimising operator workload and cognitive burden. The components are modular and use an open systems architecture. The company also integrates “best-of-breed third-party sensors and effectors” to provide a layered approach to counter-unmanned defence missions.
“Our team is constantly innovating to solve the toughest defense challenges facing our military,” commented Anduril CEO, Brian Schimpf. “The evolving unmanned aerial threat requires flexible, adaptable, and rapidly deployable technology approaches. With the Lattice CUxS family of systems, Anduril is well-equipped to deliver the solutions SOCOM needs today and in the future.”
