ALTIUS ALE Demonstrates Advanced Teaming at EDGE22

Largest Swarm To Date Shows Advanced Collaborative Behaviours

The ALTIUS 600 Air Launched Effects (ALE) platform recently demonstrated first-of-its-kind intelligent teaming during US Army Future Command’s (AFC) EDGE22 event. Part of AFC’s campaign of learning designed to accelerate technological advances in integrated artificial intelligence, robotics, and autonomy to improve battlefield situational awareness, the event offered the ideal venue for ALTIUS to demonstrate Area-I’s ALE technology, which represents a significant technological step forward. Area-I is a subsidiary of Anduril Industries.

ALE are vital to the Army’s Future Vertical Lift programme – and the Future Attack Reconnaissance Aircraft (FARA) programme in particular. At EDGE22, the modular ALTIUS platform led the largest demonstration of collaborative teaming in the largest ALE swarm to date – with multiple ALTIUS platforms operating collaboratively and simultaneously. In addition, ALTIUS demonstrated a coordinated detect, identify, locate and report mission capability.

ALTIUS [Agile-Launched, Tactically-Integrated Unmanned System]can track, engage, and provide overmatch of enemy targets in a multi-domain environment. Modular by design, the system is capable of supporting a variety of kinetic and non-kinetic payloads and sensors, customisable to mission requirements. It has a demonstrated ability to be organically carried and tube-launched from fixed- and rotary-wing aircraft at both high and low altitude, from ground vehicles, and from marine vessels.

ALE will enable operators to gain an asymmetric advantage in reach, stand-off, protection, and lethality in the execution of joint combined arms and manoeuvre operations.

ALE, as demonstrated by ALTIUS, is a critical capability for US Army FVL and FARA programmes. (Anduril Industries)
