Combined Expertise Offers Brazilian Military Superior Solutions
Brazilian firm ALLTEC Composite Material and Rafael Advanced Defense Systems have signed an MoU under which they will collaborate in projects and business opportunities for the supply of passive add-on armour solutions for the Brazilian military and governmental market, the Israeli company announced on 10 March.
The MoU’s purpose is to achieve maximum local industrial content and facilitate joint marketing and sales of Rafael’s passive add-on armour solutions, including maintenance and life cycle support. For over 30 years, Rafael’s add-on armour protection has been used by the Israel Defense Forces, US forces, NATO countries, peacekeeping units, and other customers around the world to effectively protect land forces.
Rafael’s add-on reactive and passive armour is easily and quickly installed or removed; it defeats a wide range of threats, such as anti-tank rockets, firearms, AP projectiles, high-speed shell fragments and high explosives.
ALLTEC’s knowledge and experience in the field position it as a technological leader in the manufacture of ceramic armoured shields in any shape and thickness. ALLTEC has used its expertise to increase the level of ballistic protection required by the Brazilian Army on the new GUARANÍ armoured vehicle, with its resulting expertise qualifying it as a preferred supplier for such solutions to the Brazilian Army.
