Up to One Year Ahead of Schedule
Airbus Helicopters and PT Dirgantara Indonesia (PTDI) are delivering helicopters to the Indonesian armed forces up to a year ahead of schedule, leveraging the close cooperation and strong partnership between the two companies, developed over 40 years.
A single H215M and two H225M helicopters were delivered to the air force in March (six H225Ms are on order), two armed scout FENNECs to the army (January – a total of 12 on order) and the first two ‘green’ basic airframes for the AS565 MBe PANTHER for the navy arrived in Indonesia in mid-March for completion by PTDI, which will outfit these helicopters in-country with key mission equipment before delivery to the respective services. The PANTHERs, of which a total of 11 are on contract, will be equipped with an ASW suite by PTDI, including dipping sonar and torpedoes. The first two are expected to be delivered by mid-year.
“The ability to deliver ahead of schedule on several important Indonesian defence programmes requires a very strong industrial cooperation and unwavering commitment. It is imperative to have partners who share the same values and drive, which we have found in PTDI,” Ludovic Boistot, Managing Director of Airbus Helicopters Indonesia, observed.
