Support for Interior Ministry Programmes
Airbus has opened a subsidiary in Bratislava, Slovakia, to support projects and related activities of the Ministry of the Interior, the company announced on 11 January.
Since 1998 the company has provided Tetrapol technology for SITNO, the national digital radio communication network and infrastructure, used daily by Slovak security forces. Airbus is also currently supporting modernisation of the critical communications network, ensuring continuity of essential voice communications services while allowing orderly introduction of new data applications, thanks to its Tactilon Agnet collaborative application.
The opening of an office “is part of a long-term growth strategy which brings us closer to our customers. They will now be able to receive dedicated support and talk to Airbus employees who are at hand and speak the local language,” explained Philippe Devos, Airbus’ Head of Sales for Slovak Republic for Secure Land Communications.
“This step is going to strengthen our position across the country, targeting growth in the defence and security sectors, as well as in the helicopter domain,” added Jacques Garrigue, Airbus International Vice President for Central Europe.
